Modified TEI Share Site Info

Flexible Creativity is pleased to provide Virginia educators with a structure to share teacher created modified technology-enhanced assessment items.  This bank of items is participant supported.  Therefore, as it is newly launched, there may be few, if any, items currently available.  The success of this site is directly dependent on its use and support by educators like you.

This share site does not include items created by Flexible Creativity or any of its staff.  If you are interested in accessing completed modified TEI math checkpoint tests or other assessment resources, please click here to view the products available on the Flexible Creativity website.

The Flexible Creativity Modified TEI Share Site is a folder structure provided via DropBox.  Each user must download the DropBox service to his/her computer and create a personal DropBox account (if you do not already have one).  For information and instructions on downloading and accessing DropBox, visit the DropBox website.  Flexible Creativity does not offer service or support of DropBox.

Important Note:  This is a SHARE SITE supported by DropBox service.  Deleting or modifying files will delete access for all users.  We encourage adding new files, using the FILE SAVE AS option.  Please only delete files that you have added.  Do not delete files others have added or any of the file structure (file folders).

After installing DropBox, contact Flexible Creativity for permission to access the Flexible Creativity Modified TEI Share Site.  (DropBox is a permission based system; access is not automatic, but must be granted.)  Your email should include your full name, school and/or division, position and the email address that is related to your DropBox account.  Additionally, you must include a statment that you accept and will adhere to the following conditions of use in your request for access email.

Conditions for Use of Flexible Creativity Modified TEI Share Site

  • I understand that this share site is supported and used by teachers in the Commonwealth of Virginia.  Flexible Creativity is not responsible for the quality or validity of any content.  I will immediately make Flexible Creativity aware of any content deemed to be offensive or inappropriate.  I understand that Flexible Creativity does not guarantee that items will be available for any given content, grade or standard as these items are created and uploaded by the participants.
  • I understand that this share site requires my actively adding new items, not simply copying out items for my own use.
  • I understand that Flexible Creativity may modify any item or use items uploaded by participants to further its mission.
  • I will abide by the format and structure provided by Flexible Creativity, including but not limited to, file folder and subfolder development, format for item inclusion, and naming files.
  • I understand that this is a free service provided by Flexible Creativity.  There is no promise or guarantee of access, support, or service.
  • I acknowledge that I am the sole owner of any item I submit/upload into the site.  I will never include material that is copyrighted.  Each entry I make will be an original work created by me for submission into the share site.  Failure to abide by this will result in my immediate dismissal from the share site and could include related copyright infringement charges.
  • I will not access these items to include in any division-wide or division-sponsored tests as they are for my own personal classroom use.  Nor will I copy any item to use in other projects or for other companies.

Upon receiving your email (or message via our contact us form), Flexible Creativity will send an email inviting you to join the Flexible Creativity Modified TEI Share Site.  While most invitations are sent within one business day, please allow up to three business days for a reply.

After gaining access to the Flexible Creativity Modified TEI share site, you will find that a MASTER item creation document is saved in Microsoft Word at the root directory level.  Please use this form to create each item.  Each section of the form (as appropriate) must be completed.   Additionally, you may find a copy of the item creation form on the Consulting Presentations page of our website here.

Once you have added your item, you will the rename the file using FILE / SAVE AS.

When saving new documents, be sure to save the file in the correct subfolder.  For example, if writing an item for math grade 5 SOL 15, save this file in the MATH / MATH 5 / Math 5.15 folder.

Each file name structure should be as follows:

CONTENT AND/OR GRADE.SOL#.INITIALS OF WRITER.SEQUENTIAL ITEM NUMBER (IF NEEDED)

(examples: Math5.15.DFM    or   Geometry.11.DFM)

If you are adding more than one file for a specific SOL (or if your initials match another user), please add subsequent numbers after your initials: Math5.15.DFM.4 (if this is the fourth question submitted).  The goal is to distinguish varying files without saving over another file.  Please use your best judgement if a conflict should occur.

You may then begin to use items within the Flexible Creativity Modified TEI Share Site.

We appreciate your interest and support and hope you find this service both worthwhile and rewarding!

Special Note:  Some school/division email and internet settings may prevent access to a public share site such as DropBox.  You may need to access the Flexible Creativity Modified TEI Share Site files via a personal computer or network.
